Viareggio is one of the most visited places in different times of the year, in summer for the beach and the various activities offered, and during the colder months for the famous "Carnival of Viareggio." In addition to the wide beach equipped for every type of requirement you can have a walk along the boulevard "Margherita" also called "Passeggiata" to appreciate local restaurants and shops. Moving towards the center of the city you can enjoy a multitude of cultural attractions, museums, monuments and churches. The oldest buildings is the "Torre Matilde" erected by the city of Lucca in 1534. In the evening you can then spend time in many local seafood where you can eat seafood and everything else. Moving slightly from the city center you can visit the "Darsena" locations of Viareggio renowned for the amount of pubs open late into the night with music and food for all ages and tastes. Out of the center, going to Camaiore we run into one of the key areas of the city, the "Citadel of the Carnival" where are prepared wagons who perform during carnival parades.Going then to "Torre del Lago" one of the parts of Viareggio you can attend the "Puccini Festival" held in honor of Giacomo Puccini's that take place in the months of July and August.

Stazzema is one of the countries of the historical Versilia and is situated about 450m on the sea level. Harmony between the Alps and the mountainous vegetation rich chestnut. Founded by the Romans in the past and then passed under the dominion of Lucca in 1200 has always been a reference point for the marble workers that just come here to take it to the valley. Moving down but always remaining under the common Sant'Anna di Stazzema are historical place, mostly remembered after the massacre took place during World War II by the German SS.

Characteristic for its walls dating back to the Middle Ages and till today in excellent condition with tree-lined avenues that give harmony between the surrounding landscape, basically green, and the inner city, yet in medieval style. Walking in the streets of the center there is a surreal mix of the ancient and the modern since the medieval streets are lined by a multitude of local and shops open at all hours. For those interested in the cultural point of view, Lucca offers a multitude of artistic and architectural outlets starting from 99 churches in Gothic-Renaissance to the ducal palaces and mansions such as the "Torre Guinigi" that encloses within an impressive roof garden .

At the border between Versilia coast and the foothills of the Apuan Alps there is the town of Camaiore. Set in a landscape that goes from the hills to the plain, the lake areas, is home of most of the agricultural settlements in the area. From the center of Camaiore in few minutes you can reach the "Lake Massaciuccoli", mentioned several times by Puccini, natural oasis that goes from Viareggio to "San Rossore" offers the opportunity to do "bird-watching" or activities as boating and kayaking

Few kilometers from here you can reach by boat, by car or train, the National Park of Cinque Terre. The park is on the Ligurian coast in the province of La Spezia, and is composed of the City of Riomaggiore, Vernazza, Manarola, Corniglia and Monterosso. Famous and worth a visit is the "Way of Love" that connects Riomaggiore and Manarola, it is a path overlooking the sea which allows to see the beautiful and incredibly romantic landscape. The whole area of the Cinque Terre National Park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO

You can reach the park of San Rossore from Pisa, Lucca and Viareggio. This is one of the bigger european pinewood; here you can have excursions also by bike, train or horse. In the park you can see animal as deers, boars and lots type of birds.
